Collectible Story
A legendary starship, despite its humble origins and deceptively dilapidated exterior, the Millennium Falcon has played a vital role in many of the Rebel Alliance's greatest victories over the forces of the dreaded Empire.
To the untrained eye the Falcon looks like any other Corellian YT-1300 light freighter with her saucer-shaped primary hull, forward mounted cargo-gripping mandibles, and starboard mounted offset cylindrical cockpit. But beneath the peeling paintwork and buckled and missing hull plates, this vessel hides many powerful secrets.
A lifetime of service in the shady business of smuggling has resulted in past and present owners adding many "unique modifications" to assist them in the plying of their nefarious trade. As such the Falcon is no ordinary stock freighter and is more than adept at getting her crew out of trouble.
An oversized, top-mounted portside sensor dish allows detection of Imperial ships long before they become aware of the Falcon. And, if she does encounter trouble, military-grade quad laser canons mounted above and below the ship's centerline, and forward mounted concussion missiles provide very effective protection. A ventrally-mounted antipersonnel repeating laser can lay down devastating covering fire if the ship needs to make a quick escape. And what an escape it is.
Modified hyperdrive systems, fully twice the size of the Falcon's original specs, make this ship faster than any in her class and capable of out-running Imperial warships. However, like any souped-up hot rod she pays a heavy price for her illegally augmented performance.
The hyperdrive, which once propelled the ship to fame by completing the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, is often prone to failure. A swift, hard thump to a bulkhead has been known to motivate the chronically malfunctioning Falcon.
Current owner Han Solo and his first mate Chewbacca in order to pay off a hefty debt accepted a charter, which resulted in the ship and her crew being drawn into the cause of the Rebellion. The Falcon provided covering fire for Luke Skywalker during his final attack run on the first Death Star. The recalcitrant and unpredictable ship also provided escape transport for Princess Leia during the Battle of Hoth, and under the command of her previous owner, Lando Calrissian, she soared into the heart of the second Death Star, delivering a volley of concussion missiles that helped seal the fate of the Empire.
